WHO IS THIS CLASS FOR

This hands-on CPR & AED class is for anyone who wants to be prepared and capable of recognizing sudden cardiac arrest and providing immediate assistance during a cardiac emergency.

Age Requirements:

Participants must be 13 years of age or older. Participants ages 13–18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who is also enrolled in the class.

Prerequisites:

No medical experience or prior CPR & AED training is required.

What to Bring:

Nothing is required.

Certification:

This class emphasizes building practical ability through progressive skill development. You will have the opportunity to put what you learn into practice through extended, realistic scenarios rather than focusing on a one-time skills test. You will receive a certificate of completion documenting your participation, but not a traditional two-year CPR & AED certification card. If you are taking the class to meet a specific employment, licensing, or regulatory requirement, please confirm that this class meets that requirement before registering. If you currently hold or have previously held a CPR & AED certification card, you can still benefit from this class by reinforcing your skills.

WHAT YOU'll LEARN

You will develop the knowledge and practical ability needed to recognize sudden cardiac arrest, begin CPR, and use an AED while waiting for additional help to arrive.

Through this class, you will learn and practice how to:

  • Recognize the signs of sudden cardiac arrest and know when immediate action is required.

  • Perform effective chest compressions using proper technique.

  • Provide appropriate rescue breaths.

  • Use an automated external defibrillator (AED) safely and properly.

  • Apply these skills when an emergency occurs and respond with greater confidence.

WHY IT MATTERS

Sudden cardiac arrest can happen anywhere, at any time, and without warning. It can happen to a family member, friend, coworker, or anyone in your community. You may be the person who is there when someone suddenly collapses, while emergency responders may still be several minutes away.

Knowing how to recognize sudden cardiac arrest, begin CPR, and use an AED, along with hands-on experience performing these skills, gives you the confidence to take immediate action during those critical first minutes and may help save a life.

HOW YOU'LL LEARN

This class is designed to help you develop the understanding, practical ability, and confidence to respond effectively to a cardiac emergency through:

  • Presentations with visual graphics to introduce concepts, techniques, and response procedures.

  • Instructor-led demonstrations that show how to perform each technique correctly.

  • Guided hands-on training that allows you to build and reinforce essential skills through practice and repetition.

  • Simulated scenarios that allow you to apply what you have learned and practice responding to emergencies.

The facilitator was excellent. I have had other similar training, but this fellow really goes the extra mile. Though I have done this before, I still learned a lot. The role playing exercises added a different dimension to it.
